Gorjuss Girl Card

I recently purchased my first Gorjuss Girl after salivating over some of the images i've seen on other blogs. She is so ethereal and there are so many ways to color her with my Copics. I'm having so much fun! I'll have to save up more pennies to order again soonest.
Meanwhile, I made these cards from a design I scraplifted from Cards magazine March 2010 issue. I used papers from HobbyLobby, Cosmo Cricket and Bazill. I colored my Sitting Gorjuss girl with Copics and cut her out, adhering her with dimensional dots over a piece of yellow cloth binding tape and a shape cut with my Epic Six and a Spellbinders Nestability die. I added very subtle glitz with a metallic gel pen and a couple jewels. The card measures 6x6 and is undecorated in the inside because I gave it away to a fellow crafter to use as she pleases, for a birthday, a get weel or a friendship card.
I can't wait until the weekend. I don't have to work, and I hope to put my craft room to rights. I have a couple new ideas on how to roganize the room and my projects, after taking a seminar on Multi Tasking and Organizational Skills today. If they work, I will share with you.

Orphan Cards

I think from now on I must insist that all stamped images sent to crafters from other crafters be identified. This is a lovely image of a monarch butterfly, but I don't know whose stamp it is, and I would love to get my hands on it!
I colored with copics, and used liquid glass to give it dimension. I also glitzed the flowers a touch with stickles. The sentiment is in the same boat as the image, sent by a friend but not ID'd. I used my leftover stash of papers to make these cards, as well. Poor little orphan card, with no parents to claim them!!

Long Time, No Post

Work is so crazy busy with the last classes this week, the end of the year dinner to plan, and first communions for 90 kids. I have only just been able to steal a few minutes here, a few minutes there. Tomorrow I don't get my usual time free in the morning. We're going to an Organizational Workshop from 9-4, and classes start at 5!
Anyway, I took some time to make a few cards. Above I used some leftover images from a PIF I received. I wanted to give the cake some dimension so I colored the frosting twice and attached the second layer using dimensional dots. Add some stickles and Liquid Glass and I like the way they turned out.

Sitting Tilda

Here's my newest Tilda card. I used Bazill cs, and CTMH dp. I don't know where the diecut frame came from, but I stamped the birthday sentiment and gave it a little green. I also added an embellished felt flower. I love coloring Tildas, and am fascinated by her hair. I keep coloring them to just get the practice with their hair--weird but true!

Cards

Didn't get a chance to make cards today--work, work, work! These were done yesterday as I was cleaning off my desk (again). One uses an ATC I received in a swap, the other an imager from Pink Cat Studios, another of my fave companies. The blue on the bottom is from a roll of faux leather that I inherited from my mom when she quit girl scouts.
I hope for some time tomorrow in my craft room, to clean, to clean out, to organize, to create. Enjoy the nice weather if you have it!

Birthday Cards

I made some birthday cards this week. I used some paper from a swap for the background, inked the heck out of the edges (my signature technique), and added a birthday greeting on the side, embellished with two black gems. I also used K&Co Grand Adhesions sticker for an added sentiment, and to put a little color onto the front. I made five of these to give to a friend who sends them overseas to soldiers in the mideast to use and send home. With my son going into boot camp at the end of this month, and possibly deploying overseas by the end of his first year, I appreciate all who help our sevice men and women.

Happily making cards

I love having a weekday off. Not only can I get my errands done that I can't do on the weekends, but I have time to play in my craft room. Here are a a few cards I made today. The single card uses an image from Sassy Studios. I am getting more and more into digi images!
The next group of cards uses Tilda in Bandages. Magnolia is one of my fave stamp companies.

Happy easter!

It was a busy week, but working at a Catholic school has its perks. Like my weekend is a four day off one!!
So I enjoyed Bella's stay with us, including the trip to Dominick's for the Easter Egg Hunt, and the beautiful weather, and my family.
I laso enjoyed some time in my craft room, cleaning and organizing (a neverending battle) and playing with some leftover papers. I decorated this cute little cardstock album that a crafting friend sent me. Although it included paper and embellishments of its own, I wanted to add a splash of color to it while using up my drawer full of paper pieces.
I also made a few cards, and caught up with my 365 Days of Me Album. Taking the photos is easy (some days), but getting them printed and put onto their pages is another story. But I'm finished up until yesterday, and will probably hold off on scrapping the rest until I get together with my mom and sisters for our family scrap day later this month.
I hope everyone enjoyed a glorious Easter morning, and is in the company of good friends and family.

Cards for Troops

One of the crafters on Scrapbook Place Yahoo Group collects cards and sends them to troops posted overseas (or an organization that does same). I think I missed the Mother's Day call, so I jumped the gun and made Father's Day cards. I kept them simple yet still a very nice card, using my clearance bin dp and brown cs for the base, and some acrylic stamps for the sentiment.
I went to HobbyLobby to pick up a Nestability set for which I had a raincheck, and of course mosied on over to the clearance area. All I bought yesterday was the paper and the Labels Four set, so I patted myself on the back and cashed out. Besides, I have to save my money to buy some Gorjuss Girls. They are the cutest stamps and I don't have nay--yet!! I plan to change my status tomorrow (payday).
Meanwhile, my boss has me jumping, the kids have been extra needy, and hubby is in a foul mood. Ever get the urge to run away sometimes??
